"don't need candles or cake, just need your body to make..."

ayo ayo ayo ayo!
that song is such a guilty pleasure of mine. haha

Aight, I'm gonna be good about this blogging deal this time. Yesterday was a good day overall, except for the gross weather we're having lately. It was nasty and raining all day = no swimming since we're outside now :(. I can't lie, I wasn't that upset - I'm still totally sore from the rest of the week. The middle of my back actually hurts the most, which is totally weird. What the hell kind of muscles are there? But anyway, I just went to the gym to lift.

Breakfast was the standard banana oats (+ blueberries!) with almond butter and coffee

Lunch was a totally awesome use of leftovers:

leftover salmon on a salad of romaine, red onion and some avacado

+

leftover bulgur mixed with a laughing cow cheese wedge, cherry tomatoes and basil
(this was an awesome spontaneous invention. definitely making this again)

aaandd... breakfast for dinner. my favorite!

one egg sunny side up cooked with some tomatoes and mushrooms on a slice of bread
(come and get me salmonella - totally worth it)
 +
grapes on da side

Then I went to a graduation party and had a small(ish) piece of generic grocery store chocolate cake. It was delicious, but my stomach started churning almost immediately. I think I have some sort of intolerance for preservatives or oils or something. Same thing happens if I ever try to eat Chinese food - which is a shame, because I love me some mei fun. Oh well.

Also, I just thought I would share this incredibly tasteless playlist with all of you. I have this ongoing joke with one of my friends about how much I love Lil Wayne, and he always asks me to make him playlists. I'm not gonna lie - you could say that I have somewhat questionable taste, but in all honesty, this makes for great working out music. So if you're interested....

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

word.
peace out yo.

m.i.a. (not the paper planes kind)

Okay, so I'm new to the blog deal, and I've been MIA for a little while. I don't know why I'm apologizing. Pretty sure no one reads this. haha Anyway, while I wasn't posting, I still took pictures of most of my meals (what kind of idiot am I? hah.) oh well. So here are some highlights:

banana oatmeal and coffee. standard

some delicious spinach pie thing that I got at the farmer's market in Washington Square

scenic Washington Square. ha

salmon salad melt made with canned salmon, dijon mustard, carrots and dried cranberries topped with mozz cheese on a roll that I got at the farmer's market. this was actually incredibly delicious. :)
iced coffee. aka old leftover coffee that I just put ice into. haha. it was good though

and I promise to do better in the future. scout's honor! haha

About Me

hello blog world!

My name's Victoria and I am an 18 year old student athlete and pescatarian - aka vegetarian + fish. I just finished my freshman year of college (I'm young for my grade, I know. I skipped a grade. haha) where I am a design major, soon to be design/english double major, and on the varsity swim team. This combination gets pretty hectic sometimes (lie. all the time) but I'm a bit of an overachiever and a perfectionist, so you know, I deal.

presenting my project at a crit with wet hair from morning practice
I made that chair out of cardboard and it held my weight. I'm not light.

I also draw a lot:

I'm originally from the New York metropolitan area (NJ to be specific), and I'm home in the dirty jerz for the whole summer. I'm about a  15 minute drive from New York City, so I go in pretty often. I love college, but I miss the city so much when I'm away.

chillin in the subway station
That is neither my soda nor my animal print dress. don't judge

a more family friendly picnic in central park

Anyway, I wanted to make this blog because a.) I've been blog stalking for forever, and I've always wanted one of my own to legitimize my creepster ways,  b.) to keep record of my food/ exercise/ etc. and  c.) because there are a ton of food blogs of runners out there and pretty much ZERO swimmer blogs (trust me, I've looked), so I like to think that I'm pioneering the trend.

Swimming is obviously really important to me (and obviously imperative to my eating habits because during season I'm capable of eating incredible amounts. no lie. haha). I can't remember a point in my life when I wasn't swimming.

my senior night in high school

Aside from the copious amounts of food, I'm totally in it for the endorphins and I just love competition.

kicking ass and taking names

Haha. Lies. That's totally me on the 8th place spot. I was just excited that I got to stand on the podium.

some random fun facts:

- my favorite color is gold. I feel like I'm destined to be overly competitive - my name is Victoria (i.e victory), I love gold, and I'm a great big perfectionist. haha
-my favorite season is winter. I love the snow!
-I'm really bad at spelling. I've probably already spelt a lot of things wrong
- I love art and drawing, but I go to a really nerdy school, and get made fun of for my major all the time by my engineering and computer science friends
-I have a secret love (not all that secretive) for hard core rap. I think it's the jersey in me. haha

I'm so hood.
hah. I was actually Lil Wayne for Halloweeen :D

Anyway, so that's me.
peace out girl scouts!

I can run?

This is going to be short and sweet because I desperately need to get some sleep tonight! I'm apparently picknicking in Washington Square tomorrow morning and then in search of more local shenanigans for the evening. Anywho, onto the day's eats...

Breakfast was the old standby:
1/2 cup oats
1 cup water
banana
flax
cinnamon
much more pb than pictured

After this I went to the gym to lift and run (because it was raining outside) and totally managed 3 miles on the treamill, which is a pathetically big acomplishment for me. I am the absolute worst at running. I can totally handle 3 miles of swimming - that's probably a little less than an average practice. But this stuff is tricky, so good for me. hahah

lunch was a mish mosh bowl of leftovers crowding the fridge:
wild rice
black beans
red pepper
onion
mushrooms
avacado

dinner - english muffin with some smoked salmon (the best thing that ever happened to me), salad with tomatoes and onions, and half a cantaloupe with cottage cheese

desert(ish) was some dark chocolate covered almonds and two mini tj's gingersnap cookies with camomile tea :) mmmm

then I went out for some undocumented coffee and was really hungry when I got back and made my new favorite yogurt/desert/snack thing - frozen berries, plain yogurt and kashi. yum!

off to bed!

holla

hola! first post - yay! So today started with some uneventful cereal and coffee:

1 cup kashi go lean

1 cup fiber one flakes

banana

plain light soy milk

food-1

good times. Breakfast is always my favorite, even if it is real simple.

thennn lunch:

food-4

A tuna sandwich, a pickle, and some tomato and mushroom soup. It went down like this:

food-2

chopped up some grape tomatoes, mushrooms, and garlic cloves and cooked them up on the stove for a little while, then threw them into some trader joe's tomato soup.

food-3

The sandwich was some chopped up leftover tuna, mixed with a little chopped onion, marinated in balsamic vinegar. Under there there's also a laughing cow cheese wedge, some spinach, and dijon mustard. This was delicious, but basically a recipe for bad breath, so I don't advise eating it around others, unless its ones who love you unconditionally.

then I finished off the last of my dark chocolate along with some more coffee

food-5

Then I had to run to the lake for lifeguarding drills, and I had an apple and a not very good gnu bar on the way...

I was starving when I got home, and quickly made this dinner:

food-6

Salad with a pear, dried cranberries, almonds and balsamic vinegar and a wrap with a chopped up veggie burger, a slice of mozzerella cheese and a little avacado.

food-7

I would also like to let you know that I cooked and ate dinner in my bathing suit. hahah. I didn't have any time to change because not only was I dying of hunger, but I was in a rush to get into the Village to go see Objectified! It's a documentary about industrial design, which sounds totally lame, but I am totally lame, so I thought it was pretty cool.

anywho, I was pretty hungry when I got back, and I made this for myself:

food-8

some thawed frozen berries and some plain yogurt, topped with kashi go lean and a little granola + some camomile tea. yum!

g'night!
